Based on your message header I'm guessing your using windows.  What I
did was I went to www.javasoft.com  In "The JavaPlatform" drop down on
the left click "Java Plug-In".  On that page it allows you to download
1.3.1.  Get the one for windows.

Now, I can't remember if it placed the plugin in the mozilla directory
automatically or not.  In case it doesn't, copy these files into your
plugins directory:

NPJava11.dll
NPJava12.dll
NPJava131.dll
NPJava32.dll
NPOJI600.dll
(I think that's all of the Java related plugin DLL's)

Launch mozilla and it should work.

If you frequently get nightlies, you'll probably want to create a batch
file to copy the plugins into the mozilla directory to save you some
hassle.
