Since the Netscape folks seem to have been rather silent on this issue,
despite numerous posts recently, I can only speculate. Since the
Netscape spellchecker worked fine in Mozilla 0.9.2, I am guessing that
someone decided that there were licensing problems and had the support
stopped.
Several months ago there was some discussion of implementing support for
an Open Source spellchecker, but zippo lately that I can see. So it
looks like nothing will happen unless someone volunteers to step up and
do this implementation.
