I understand it's a licensing issue. But, I agree that without a spell
checker of some kind, Mozilla mail is not nearly as appealing as it
could be, even for those of us willing to test it, and report it's bugs.
I use it as my primary browser and mailer, just so I can find and
report bug as they are found through normal customer use. I use the
mailer for all my mail/newsreader functions.
Surely there must be public domain spell checker software out there
which Mozilla could incorporate. This is really old technology. Even if
they just spun up a simple checker which would flag mispelled words with
out suggested replacement, it would be a great improvement. Most of us
probably misspell because of haste, or because we can't remember if it's
supposed to be "ie" or "ei", etc., and a quick check would go a long way
to helping us get it right.
