If you want the huge long story, read the thread "favicons" in this ng. You can also go to www.favicon.com. The short story - Mozilla looks for favicon.ico on the webserver i.e. if you go to www.cnn.com, mozilla will look for www.cnn.com/favicon.ico and display it as favicon. Another way to do it is to have a <link> tag. Look at the threads and website for more (a lot more) details. Pratik.
