If you look at the official page loading timers (not reviewers own personal tests, just the true numbers), Mozilla is like 150 to 200 ms slower than IE. Oooo, wow. Maybe I'd notice 200ms on a 10Mbit/sec LAN connection with no latency, packet loss and a ping of <10ms, but in the real world I have a 1.5 Mbit/sec cable connection and I can't see a difference in rendering speed, downloading speed, or at this point startup speed. I personally can't wait for Moz 1.0. If .9.6 can trounce IE6, 1.0 will trounce IE6 and then defacate on it's remains > > Guys, just do me one favor: don't be surprised in the least when > Mozilla 1.0 is released and it's ignored as much as Netscape 6.0 > was reviled. At this pace of increasing speed, before long Netscape 6.0 will be faster than IE6. Hate to burst your bubble, but IE6 isn't getting faster every day. Mozilla is. IE does not have nightly versions, they have "MS releases a new version to patch the 800 million security holes that have been punched in the pincussion known as IE" versions. I have cable. IE6 is slower than IE5.5 here. And it is still based on that nice, still the same core as IE4 rendering engine that MS is beating to death. Kinda sad when there are text only browsers out there with more standard support then IE6 has, isn't it? PS, welcome back.
