Another possibility: Yahoo authorizes SMTP by having you check 
your POP mail first.  Try checking, and THEN sending.

One of my favorite features of Pegasus is the ability to set 
this as a default option for the SMTP server.  Mozilla 
desperately needs a dialogue to configure this in the UI.
