Well, I didn't get any such error message when I tried HTTPS
without the security manager installed, so I don't think you'd get
one either, so this proves nothing whatsoever.

Well, if any HTTPS URL works, then you've got the security manager
installed. Without it, nothing happens when you try to load the
first HTTPS URL.

I don't know. Run the re-install and make sure it's included.

If you didn't do the custom installation and explicitly check it
off, it should be installed.
