I just installed a Dec 20 AIM beta which works fine. But, it would
have been nice if it had inserted a menu item in Moz -- Win Me (til end
next week I'm gonna stick with milestone 0.9.7).
AIM is proprietary to NS 6.x

There is a freestanding version of AIM you can download from AOL.com
that you can use as a separate application. In fact i replace the
version installed with Communicator with this version and it works
greate. don't think you can do this with the version installed N6 as its
integrated into N6 whereas the Communicator version is a sperarte component.
Thanks, Philip ... the AIM I installed is autonomous.  I've investigated other means to the end.
A Jabber Instant Messenger from Bell South connects to MSN, ICQ  and Yahoo, but not AOL.
A Java-based app called Shaolo seems quite promising.
I'd guess that Jabberzilla should be the ne plus ultra for Mozilla users, but I see that the last version was intended for Moz 0.9.5.  Does anyone know when the next update is due?
Excuse me Jay, but isn't it a bit cheeky to say that AOL is an offshoot of Netscape? ;-)
Happy New Year Jay, Asa, Seth, Gerv, all ....
