No, it's standards compliant. And as Mozilla is by 99,9% completely new 
code, there can't be any backwards compatibility - where should we go 
back to, except Netscape 4.x, which had way too many bugs and _thus_ was 
scrapped?

So no, Mozilla will not focus on backwards compatibility, but as 
strictly as possible on standards compliance.

Perhaps, but this might encourage tips & tricks sections in magazines to 
promote turning the option on "How to make Mozilla more compatible and 
better: Do [this and that]. This makes it a lot better!!!". And then, 
the point would be moot.
