Section 18.2.2 of the HTML 4.01 standard is bound to be very
interesting reading for you:

 <http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/interact/scripts.html#h-18.2.2>

It tells you everything about setting a default script-type, not using
language="" and using type="" instead.

Any time you are having problems with your "web design training",
we're here to help you.

Come to think of it, learning webdesign and standards is probably
quite horribly off topic in a newsgroup about Mozilla developement, so
any further discussion should probably take place in
comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html.
