Real status of the postscript printing module?

What's the real status of the postscript printing module (gfx/src/ps)?
Is it so dead that it's pointless to even try to fix it, e.g
<http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144663>? Or is it just
waiting for someone to step up who's willing to work on it?
