Double-clicking the first letter in a word seems to select the previous word in addition to the word that was pointed at. Is this intentional behaviour? I'm using Firefox 0.9 on Windows XP but the same concerns at least Firefox 0.8 on Linux too.
Another issue I was wondering is that on Windows XP and 0.9 if I double- click a word with shift button pressed down, the whole paragraph or the word (depending on something that is unknown for me) dissappears from the screen. This does not happen in 0.8 on Linux.
There is also one long standing bug report related to word selection that seems to still be around, i.e. word-by-word selection after double- click a'la xterm and others: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16203
