The n.p.m.license group is there to help people who want to develop using mozilla.org-hosted code; but it's for questions like "I've read section X.X of the MPL carefully, and can't work out whether I have to do foo when bar and baz are true, but quux is not.", rather than "I'm writing a Mozilla-based app. What do I have to do under the license?"
Gerv,
thanks for your comments so far. But I think that asking if it's possible or not to sell a stand alone app based on mozilla isn't that exotic. But I can't find anything in the FAQ here. Also I don't know any commercial app based on mozilla. So I'm afraid they aren't there coz something in the license prevents companies from publishing these apps.
Thanks to David, I guess it shouldn't be a problem to sell an xpi which consists 100% of my own code.
So I'm heading towards the xpi thing first.
In case that someone knows a commercial app which is nothing else but mozilla 1.x with a custom xpi preinstalled, I would appreciate any hints/links.
Thanks again to all.
RK
