Please let me know if this project is legally permitted before I start doing any work with the files and comparison work.
We can't tell you for certain - you didn't sign the agreement with us :-) But my opinion (and that's all it is) is that copying new files over is a modification of the product, and therefore outlawed by the license. Whether they are _allowed_ to do that is another question.
You could perhaps get around this by downloading the Client Customisation Kit and agreeing to the license on it. It might allow you to do what you want...
