I suggest that someone who has not mozilla checks it.
Cause I saw it on some others newsgroups, and the poster had not moz.
Seems like mozilla just *show* an extra dot and don't add it, exept of 
course if I reply to the post.
this seems to also happen with mail, although I'm not sure.
