Test Configuration:

Build ID: 2000120404 from the trunk (commercial).
Platform: Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Service Pack 6
Hardware: Dell Precision 220, 128 megs of RAM, Pentium III at 733 mhz.
Network connection to test server (news.netscape.com) 345k/second.
Software tested against: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.5 and Netscape
Navigator 4.76.

Performance test steps:

Create news accounts for both Outlook Express and Netscape 6.
Subscribe to the news.netscape.com server, and get a list. (I'm not
testing for 1st time subscription in this case).
Once you have subscribed, hit "Refresh" in Mozilla/Netscape 6 and note
the time it takes to populate the newsgroup pane.
Do the same for Outlook Express, using "Reset List".

Results:

Outlook Express populated the list in 7 seconds.
Netscape 6 populated the list in 5 seconds.
Netscape 4.76 took 8 seconds.

DISCLAIMER: Invariably, there will be fluctuations in network speed, but
as you can see, we are at least on par, and certainly it looks like
we're better than, both our predecessor and our competitor.
