Mmm - same here. Since my wipe and OS reinstall about a month ago, I've
neglected to even configure Outlook Express, ignoring it totally, and
only using MSIE to check cross browser or use pages that have plugins
Moz can't use. Essentially, for the last few months I've been using
Mozilla (or NS6 till recently) exclusively for all internet stuff. I
know I shouldn't be, but I'm now more used to it this way (and I back up
my Users50 folder frequently!). I'm happy.
But back to the sensitivity to ISP news server - there is something I
should add - Freeserve (which is (one of?) Britain's biggest ISP) has a
policy of filtering out ALL porn newsgroups. Not much fun, I know, but
it's a widely used ISP with a lot of clout. I wonder if there's an
ingredient in the way they block the porn (typically found in alt.)
which is tripping mail/news?
Just a thought
