Crossing Folder/Group boundries

How do I set Mozilla .6 to cross Folder/Group boundries in mail/news reader?
I'd like to be able to just hit N or T and not have to click into 
individual forlders.
( 13 mailists 2 news servers 12 groups )
Also why is there no "go to message folder" button in search window?
what is the point of auto search if you have to manually go to message
afterwards?
