increasing slowness

Hi everyone. Is it just happening to me, or have the last three or so 
nightlies (W98) become so unusably slow in operation as to be virtually 
immobile? Many minutes pass by before anything at all happens in 
response to my actions, like clicking, dragging, selecting, opening, 
anything in fact. Just thought I'd check and ask others first...
