I have been talking to the folks that contribute the browser and
mailnews UI components to mozilla about taking steps to open up the
design effort. To start with we could post decisions as they happen and
continually post updated specs on mozilla.org.
In addition to this I would like to find a way for more mozilla
contributors to be represented in the design effort. I would like to
see us find someone to represent those folks that don't currently have a
chance to contribute their ideas to the design effort.
If you think that this is would be useful and you would like to assist
in this effort, please let us know. Ben Goodger has offered to be this
representative for the browser UI design. The mailnews team will need
to find someone to take a similar role.
