There was(is) a problem with SSL and this could be causing your send
failures. Try this and see if it works - go to Edit->Mail/News Account
Settings->Outgoing SMTP server and see if the SSL option is turned
OFF-(NEVER). If this doesnt help then just file a bug :-).
