I'm interested in hacking on a Java email program. Grendel is an
obvious choice, but I downloaded the CVS tree and it doesn't compile,
even with some obvious fixes (the main problem is that
netscape.shell.IShell...Ctx classes are missing). And there hasn't been
any activity in the tree for a loooong time. Email to the contacts has
gone unanswered.

So is anyone still working on Grendel?

And if not, why is it still up on the projects page as a shining example
of Mozilla/Netscape creativity? : )

I'd be psyched to be involved, but want to make sure that there isn't
more updated code before I do anything.

Thanks...
