How to check all folders for new mail?

I have several folders into which I sort mail on the server using 
procmail. As a result, at any time some or all of them may have new 
messages. Is there some way that I can get Netscape 6.1 to check them 
all at once for new mail?

Similarly, I read news on three different news servers. Closing and then 
opening the newsgroup lists forces a refresh. Is there some way to do 
this for all servers (email & all news servers)?
