I recently downloaded Mozilla 0.9.2 for Windows98SE and I love it, however I have found a few problems. If my e-mail address is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I set my "OUTGOING SERVER (SMTP)" to mail.isp.net where isp.net has a big SMTP server that only accepts mail from their customers who authenticate with a username and password Thier SMTP server checks against their LDAP server for users in the joe.org domain, or it will search in the given dowmain for the user name password to authenticate against. If I enter "USER NAME" Joe then Mozilla tries to authenticate as [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is a problem! If I enter "User Name" as [EMAIL PROTECTED] then Mozilla tries to authenticate as [EMAIL PROTECTED]@mail.isp.net This is an even worse problem! Also Netscape 4.[6-7]x supported TLS for SMTP submission. Mozilla seems to only have an option for SSL, not TLS? My Mail server is an IMAP server and I have it configured to save sent messages in my mail account's "SENT" folder If I tell Mozilla to use "mail.isp.net:465" and to use SSL with the user-name password stuff listed above and then send an e-mail in Mozilla, A status window pops up saying "SENDING MESSAGE" which shows for a few seconds then goes away, the compose window goes away and the message appears in my "SENT" folder, However the Message was never sent. If I do the exact same thing, but without port 465 and set to Never use SSL it just tries to send the message and keeps poping up the password prompt saying invalid login attempt reported.... Also, If I configure an LDAP server and then try to compose a message and start typing in a TO address quickly and get 6 or 7 characters into the TO address then the drop down list of matching LDAP directory entries shows up so that I know the LDAP stuff works... However if I am typing slowly and just enter a single character like "A" and then pause Mozilla locks up hard and I have to kill it using the windows task manager. -Ben.
