I'd suggest you work on fixing bugs instead. There won't be any 
noticable changes in mailnews daily. I, for one, thought that was why 
it's being done weekly.

If you look at the log, you'll see that there are the big landings 
(threadpane outliner for example) that makes stuff better.

I'd be glad to help you work on mailnews bugs if you seriously are 
considering helping out with it.
