Filtering old news

Hi,

I'm finally started using filters, as my incomming is too much filled.

What I hoped to do was making my account smaller by having spezific 
mails in other folders, but what mozilla (warpzilla) does is having only 
new sorted in.

Is there a way to have also all old sorted into the folders?
Will that be possible in future versions?
