Many of the missing features you speak of are known filed bugs. 
Hopefully they should get resolved soon. Let me see if I can give you

Recently I read someone on one of the newsgroups saying that this 
feature is coming real soon. Found the followng bug.

I guess you're talking about filtering on stuff like List-ID, etc. Found
