Maybe you could try a new profile with just 1 or 2 newgroups that ned a
password. See if it works there. It could be your profile is somehow
corrupted.
I have a "similar" problem where I cannot send via my SMTP server from
my existing profile, but it works from a new one :( :( :( :( :( :(
