Did you try going to Preferences -> Privacy + Security -> Manage certificates -> Authorities, finding there your certificate name, and editing its trust settings, ie filling out all the checkboxes? I did that and S/MIME signing began to work. Thawte Personal Freemail in this here case. Raivo
