could the team do something with the connection timeout issue in mozilla first? Could users specify the timeout values? How about allowing users to cancel a connection attempt rather than waiting mozilla to abort?
Some news servers may go down ocacassionally without prior notice so this tiemout issue could become annoying. To avoid complications in process management, I usually quited mozilla immediately when it started to wait for timeout....
