I remember all the beta builds for Netscape at that time. Most
startling was the incredible proliferation of plugins. Possibly,
Netscape's coders were distracted by the need to enable those. There
were companies attempting to get one to use beta build 74 which was the
only one that would work with their plug-in -- even after the official
release! It surely was a large number of talented people working on
those plug-ins whose abilities might have been used better in the
