Which version of mozilla are you using? I used to have this problem, but
starting with a recent nightly build I don't have any trouble with it at all. I
use the File->Offline->Download/Sync Now... to do it. If you are using
milestones, I would recommend getting mozilla0.9.9 when it is released. If it is
still not fixed, I would be interested in finding out what the issue is and make
sure it is filed in bugzilla.

Sounds good, would probably be good to search bugzilla for this and if it isn't
filed, file a new feature request for this.

I'm not sure how you could currently do it automatically, but I know you can
make a copy of it in local folders and make sure that none of the messages in
local folders get deleted. It would be nice to keep messages that are labeled or
something like that, we should file a request for this feature in bugzilla if it
has not been requested.

hmm interesting, maybe someone who knows mozilla mail and news better can answer
this. Maybe something like an extension to the label feature? Or should it keep
everything in a watched thread?

They shouldn't get deleted at all.

I just don't allow moz to delete any messages at all right now ;-). Just look in
"Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings" under the edit menu. look for "Offline &
Disk Space" under each newsgroup account you have to config this stuff.

hmm, will have to check bugzilla and see if this is a bug or a feature.

Would love to help, I used to use Forte Agent too, now I'm using moz, will see
if we can get back the speed ;-). Moz mail is still rather slow, though it has
improved alot. I'll post another message when I've searched bugzilla about the
issues you have brought up. Maybe you could learn to use bugzilla too ;-)
