MS-Word's "Smart Quotes" can be set to OFF...which is the way I have it done,
along with a lot of other Word "helpers" that get in my way. I use Word 2000 rather
often, especially when writing a long e-mail or story, and 99% of the time don't have
the problem reported by the other fellow.

Ahem. I may not like M$ myself (I don't!) but when it's the best tool I have for
a job, I use it. I don't go around bashing others for using WordPerfect or Brief or
any other word processor. It's their choice how they want to compose messages, really.
:) (although using WordMail with Outlook/Outlook Express is a VERY bad idea, according
to the writer of Woody's Office Watch.)
