I have the check spell installed and working now. If somebody is following this thread and having similar problems like I did; the solution was to use rpm's. You'll some some failed dependencies and once you sort this out it will work a charm. Notice my spelling now? Its better, no? All I need now is a nice the grammar check engine... :-)
