I too found this very helpful. The spell checker show allow one to auto
check ever message, but not require the entire message to be checked
(especially inline formatted text - which seems to have been an
impossibility in NS 4.x).

the facility installed by spellchecker.mozdev.org/installation.html does
have an 'add' function - but it does not appear to in fact be saving the
added words to a dictionary. At least, nothing comes up under the edit
function. Not however, this spell checker is still in it's infancy.
