Actually user interface support for these settings would be even better.

I think that you can also set per account, instead of the default.

No, it seems I always fail to install plug-ins. I suspect that is
because I am not running Mozilla as root under Linux.

Yes, it make be a killer compared with IE but Opera and others already
have better support for this.
BTW, it may be my impression but it seems that after AOL move from IS
to Netscape, Mozilla/Netscape (~13%) are indeed recovering share from IE
(~82%).
I see a lot of potential for share growth especially because of the
integration of Web/Mail/News.
I see a lot more potential when Mozilla support for NTLM authentication
is advertised by evangelists. I haven't tried it, but it seems Mozilla
supports NTLM authentication.
NTLM (Windows Network Lan Manager) authentication is important because
it allows Windows users to logon on their workstations and then not have
to enter their password again in Intranet sites that use NTLM.
This is very common on the Windows world but it seems that very few
people know its importance to help Mozilla conquer the Windows world.
Not that people will switch from IE to Mozilla because of NTLM support
but the lack of it will prevent switch to happen.
What can help the switch to happen is integration with MS-Exchange like
Evolution has now a connector component for.

I gave up trying installing any extensions. It never works for me.
Anyway, I think that should be a built in function of Mozilla, like it
is with Opera. Opera seems to be much smaller and at the same time does
more.
