Actually, moving multiple messages from a subfolder on an IMAP server to a local folder does not work if the IMAP server uses a folder separator other than '/' (or '\'). This condition lives in <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154928>, where the buggy section of the code is identified and an easy fix is proposed, but nobody even confirmed the bug. Hopefully it will be fixed before 1.1 release.
Not being able to move multiple messages is only a side effect of the bug.
