On 29 Jul 2002, it is alleged that Bob sauntered in to netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news and loudly proclaimed:
>>> There are no user groups on news.mozilla.org, right? >>> These are all developer groups? >> >> The user groups are listed below. > > I don't see a list. 'Below' referred to the sig. >>> 2. All the newsgroup names display as only the first letters (except the >>> last word that is spelled out). >>> For example, this group is displayed as "n.p.m.mail-news" which >>> *could* be acceptable for a lot of groups but there are some >>> "ott.jobs" and "ont.jobs" that are unreadable since they both shorten >>> to "o.jobs". >> >> http://mozilla.org/start/1.0/faq/mail-news.html#3.14 > > I shouldn't have to it in a .js file when it can easily be a preference > and I think most people will need to change it. :-) Man, you have /no/ idea what kind of hot water you're edging towards with a statement like that, however innocently meant. There are already people screaming that Edit | Preferences is too cluttered. (Hmm . . . where's Jnas?) Even so, it's easily enough changed, as are a lot of prefs in Moz once you get the hang of it. And the full name appears in the titlebar, just in case. . . . /b. -- Mozilla end-user questions should be directed to: snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.general snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.win32 snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.mac snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.unix Note that you need to have SSL enabled and the port set to 563.
