On 15 Aug 2002, it is alleged that sauntered in to netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news and loudly proclaimed:
> I found 7.0 PR1 awful, deleted it, and went back to using 4.73. The > former took eons to load and frequently locked up. Four seven three > however is rock solid. No, NC 4.x is an undead clacanth that desperately needs a stake driven thro' its scale-plated body: It's hopeless in its handling of CSS and its mail client is painfully limited. BTW, what does anything about NC 4.x have to do on a Mozilla developer NG? NS 7.0 PR-1 at least shares the same code-base. And 'awful' is a horrifically vague description. Loads slowly on my box, too, but I'm using a P-200 MMX, which is a bit under spec. 'Course, you could always try going to the source and download Mozilla rather than clinging to a relic that is rapidly going the way of the dinosaur. Try Beonex (http://beonex.com/); it's a bit more geared to end- users. /b. -- Mozilla end-user questions should be directed to: snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.general snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.win32 snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.mac snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.user.unix Note that you need to have SSL enabled and the port set to 563.
