Yes; that is really scary!! With a simple click you can wipe out your own 
access to your encrypted emails (reset password removing all your encrypt 
certs). But when you forget, all is lost.

But that really doesn't help in archiving old mail. There is simply not a 
way to save (archive) the plain text of any arbitrary message. This teeters 
on the edge of the 'proprietary solution' wher once you start to use it, 
you can't stop with out throwing away everything.

This whole thing bothers me, but there is really no forum to discuss the 
future plans and objectives for S/MIME. While I have a binder full of 
RFC's, they can become pretty useless based upon a coders view of what they 
will and won't allow a user to do.
