I have been using Mozilla as my default newsreader for about 2 months, and I haven't really had any problems up until now...
1) I just got into downloading from binary newsgroups, and just to see if it had the capability (I know it doesn't, now...) to combine multi-part messages, I subscribed to alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.complete_cd, and at that time it downloaded 36,000 (give or take a few hundred) headers...and crashed. And now, anytime I even so much as select that newsgroup, it crashes. Every time. I have tried unsubscribing, marking the newsgroup read, everything. I have even uninstalled Mozilla, but all my settings were still there when I reinstalled, so that did no good. Can anybody help me, or tell me how to completely wipe all my settings so I can do a clean install? 2) This is a REALLY annoying issue. This just started happening today. I have the newsgroups set to show just the unread posts...and when I opened it up this morning, all my unread posts were ready and waiting, but it was showing posts from 8/22, 8/23, and now it has started showing posts from 8/24 as new. I thought it might be something to do with my time/date setting, but Windows AND my BIOS are set to the right date and time. I did report the first issue as a bug through the Feedback thingy. Thank you in advance for any and all help. -Hanni -Remove the obvious to reply by email.
