Mozilla browser is already very good. I can't find any important bugs there.
But Mail & News is FULL of them! I feel embarassed in saying bad things
about Outlook to people because they are going to ask me "What alternative
do you suggest?". Most of the time, I suggest Eudora (in Windows) or
KMail/KNode (in Linux). That's because Mozilla Mail & News is so full of
in-your-face bugs that any JAPCU would notice them.

There are a few annoying ones: whenever I want to send an Email or News
post, I click on 'Send Later' just to read it once again and see if the
formatting is ok. Mozilla puts the message in 'Unsent Messages' folder.
But, if it's a text message, the message is stored in 'Unsent Messages' in a
non-wrapped format, instead of the 72 (default value) characters width set
in the Preferences. When it is sent, Mozilla wraps the text. But it is
stored in the 'Sent' folder unwrapped.

And when I click on 'Send Unsent Messages', there is almost no visual
feedback that some processing is being done (bug #102919) and the message
is cleared from the message list pane but NOT from message body pane.

And not to mention the fact that Password manager when used with news
servers that require authentication stores the username/password for *each*
newsgroup, instead of the more reasonable news server wide. This makes
users have to type their username/password for *every* group they want to
see. This is bug #36816 and it hasn't been solved for over 2 years.

And what about ICQ for Windows which doesn't get the URL of the page being
shown in the active browser windows like Netscape (4) and IE does? This
must happen with any program that needs to know the URL of the active
browser window. Considering the popularity of ICQ, this is an in-your-face
bug. This is bug #31343 and it hasn't been solved since March 2000!

A dialog box or a window like 'Preferences' should open up centered on
screen or, at least, centered relatively to it's parent window. But Mozilla
opens windows usually near the top left corner. This looks so sloppy!
Urghh..

And one could mention hundreds of little in-your-face bugs like these ones.
Netscape 4.79 Mail & News is much more robust than Mozilla's. And it
shouldn't be, because Netscape's 4 development was halted in 1998. From
1994 to 1998 they have made a better Mail/News reader than Mozilla from
1998 to 2002. Probably, Mozilla project has fewer engineers assigned to Mail
& News.
