Three possible causes:

1. Have you been upgrading Mozilla recently? Remember that you should 
always uninstall Mozilla completely before installing a new version.

2. Do you use an old profile? Try creating a new profile and see if you 
can send email with that one.

3. Do you have sufficient space on your C:\ drive?
