Although a bug has not been filed on this (I have no idea under what
circumstances this happens - the duplicates have just built up over 
time), I wonder if anyone has found a way to remove these duplicates.

Basically, just a tool to sort through a mbox and weed out duplicates 
would work, since Mozilla could then be started after the fact and all 
duplicates would have automagically disappeared :) Does anyone know of 
such a tool for mail files?
