I deleted the whole directory and re-installed. Next time I tried the padlock flashed between red (broken) and yellow (locked). It eventually let me look at the account list but when I tried to access an account I was refused. Eventually mozilla (all windows) started flashing and I had to kill it. Apart from that it does appear faster (on non-encrypted sites) although some graphics are corrupted when scrolling.
