I invite whoever is interested to view the pages at http://www.anastesontai.com/. There are two problems in the rendering, which I believe to be related. The site contains the full Masoretic text of the Bible, in Hebrew, including vowels (which are the root of the problem).
1) Go to a page of Hebrew text. Note that the vowel points (the little marks above and below the line of characters) occupy their own character spaces, as though they were independent characters, which they are not. They should appear as diacritical marks above or below the character to the right of each (i.e. the preceding character -- Hebrew being written from right to left). 2) The Hebrew text extends considerable beyond the limits of the frame in which it belongs. I believe this is because of the extra space devoted spuriously to the vowel points (see the paragraph above). Granted that the matter of placing the vowel points as diacritics is difficult, it must be possible, for it is a certainty that the author of the page did not intend to display it as Mozilla displays it. Unhappily, he has neglected (or taken the precaution) to include his email address in his pages, so I cannot discuss the matter with him. I suppose, however, that he is using some flavor of Windows and, in the manner of Windows users the world over, assumes that everybody can see what he sees. A Windows user has assured me that the rendering he sees is exactly what it should be, not as I describe above. I am using v.0.9.5; The font for Hebrew pages is Times New Roman MT30. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel E-mail sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] will, of course, not reach me. Sorry.
