Ask a simple question get a very complex answer. There is no way that we are going to write the kind of code you guys are asking for in the near future.
If someone wants to step up and write it, more power to them. If the EA route is what people want, then I will probably just take the Unix route (mime.types files) for now since I can take those files from the unix helper app service and they work on OS/2 wiith very little effort. That way people that need extension/mimetype mappings can get it by using a mime.types file. Mike Kaply IBM
