My profile directory subtree contains ________.slt, where
________ are eight "random" alphanumeric characters.

That .slt directory is the **heart** of the profile - it
provides the preferences, the history, the bookmarks, the
authentication, the helper app entries, the cache dir, etc.

No 'nothing in it' about that directory.
