No, this particular case that I can make repeat uses Java (or maybe it doesn't, but it's just the sequence of sites that makes it happen), but I don't think that's it.
I just started up a session with the same setup, went to download ZxMail from Zeryx (www.zeryx.com), and it did a very similar thing. There is no Java involved on that site that I'm aware of. (The only difference in behaviour here is that I was able to highlight the text in the URL bar, but I cannot type still). I haven't been able to repeat it yet...
