There are some addins that add toolbars to Mozilla. I use PrefBar (see www.xulplanet.com). This adds checkboxes for the enabling disabling fonts, colours, images, javascript, java, popups, onLoad popups, proxies, cookies and XUL Cache. There's also Multizilla (multizilla.mozdev.org). This adds a lot of things including a menu with options to clear the caches. On of the other projects at mozdev may have something as well. As to doing it yourself, XulPlanet.com has some instructions. I think mozdev has some links to info as well.
